So I spent a couple hours today makin up some temp dog bones for the lower shock linkage. The ride height of the bike has been buggin me. The rear end was a little too low. The rear axle was actually slightly higher than the swinger pivot bolt, creating a sagging look if you looked at the bike from the side. I made the dog bones approx 1 and 1/4" shorter. This raised the rear of the bike a couple of inches. I like the look much better and I am sure I will like the ride height also when I take it for a spin. I did go to the end of the road last night just to test out the open primary. Went well, no problems.

Gonna take the original dog bones to the welder and have him cut them to the length of the ones I made and weld them up.

new ride height, axle is lower than pivot bolt (probably gonna have to trim a link from the chain)

Old ride height, axle is higher than pivot bolt (see the sag in the middle of the bike)

One more thing for you tech guys. My transmission is not shifting properly. The bike drives fine and shifts normally in all gears. The problem happens when down shifting. When you slow and downshift it will not go into first gear easily (actually a huge pain in the ***). I will come to a stop sign and think I am in first. Go to take off and realize I am not in first. Pull in the clutch and try to get inot first and wont always go. If I pull to the shoulder and reach down with my throttle hand I can get it into first while rocking the bike a bit. The fluid level is where it should be. I adjusted the clutch at the clutch backet and the cable to the proper setting. This condition was starting to happen prior to the crash. Also when I first start off from neutral, it shifts down to first with no problem. Shift up through the gears fine, then start down shifting and cant get into first.

Any help???? Thanx

Couple of daylight pics.

Some detail work to do (a whole friggin list!!!), but she is rollin and I have all winter for that.

Took a short rip around town today, runnin smooth, primary sounds and looks cool. Tranny still not goin into first on the down shift. Reach down and give a little hand relieve and she goes in. Have to have that straightened out .

thanx bro.

I really like the new set up so much better than first rendition.

I keep reminding myself how friggin lucky I got. The bike could have been a total loss, I could have been really banged up, hell, i coulda been killed!!!!

Any way, it worked out like I never imagined. I guess that is why the little issue with the tranny isnt really buggin me. The whole bike could be in the scrap pile, so I have to screw with the tranny, BIG DEAL!! Hammer out some detail work in the next few weeks and get her really tip top!!

I can't believe how much you get done in a short time. I know how long it takes me with the fabricating I have done on my bike. Good on you!!!!

Its hard to explain. I just get crazy when I have a build goin on. I keep thinkin and thinkin and change stuff and come up with solutions and I spend every spare minute workin on the bike!!!!

I usually get slowed way down when I send stuff out. Like the stem swap, 3 weeks!!!!!!

With the season over it doesnt matter now. Just gonna ease along and get stuff done in the spare time.
