One more thing y'all really should consider, is replacing the headlight lens itself with a European E-code lens. It has a much more defined and "stricter" light cutoff to keep from scattering the light from the hid. This helps to not blind oncoming motorists, and also helps keep from blinding yourself so much when you come up on those big white speed limit signs. A 7" Jeep headlight fits perfectly. I got mine from http://www.quadratec.com/products/97052_9001.htm . $40, and it really works! I personally would not do the hid conversion without doing the e-code lamp also.
okay, so I ordred the 28 dollar kit from ebay (came to 30 Euros shipping include in four days here to Finland) decided to see how if it works and then if it even fits in to the light housing and got that done and it fits and works just fine. Only thing though I got my "test" run all snugged away and secure enough that I don't really want to start messing with it unless ... unless ... I'm anticipating groans here ... anyone can tell me if fitting the balast in that (7") space ('96 Fatboy) is a bad idea and um, well ... if securing it with plastic tie straps is just REALLY not a good plan. I mean how hot does the ballast actually get? Actually, never mind ... decided yesterday to move the ballast and most of the kit elsewear, also installed a kill switch for the front light beneath the spotlight toggle. Only thing left then I guess is to change the lens ... probably that black dot one ... and oh, if you're going to carry a spare bulb bring along a good H4 also just in case it's the ballast or some other part of the HID setup that fries.

I'm not a fan of switches so i ordered a time delay relay which is another option that works for all lights. You can buy cheaper 10 second relay or buy a adjustable 0-30 second relay so i went with a adjustable for those harder to start winter mornings.
When my relay arrives ill post how i wired it up.

Ok Guys this is the best thread so far with all the info for HID install. However I need more help than others hopefully you can help me out here. I ordered the HID kit 35W with one ballast kit from ebay like OP posted.
What I am looking for is, when I flip the kuryakyn relay switch to 'ON' the HID & driving lights come on. When I turn of the ignition there is no current draw & battery drain.
Would this be a two in one solution? if so how do I go about the install. Please help
Ok I kicked around the forum trying to find some answers but no luck so far.
I went ahead and installed the HID as per the instructions that came with the kit. I hooked up the battery back and hit the ignition switch. I did not fire the bike up, the HID lights up fine, no issues with low or high beam. However when I turn the ignition there is a high pitch squeal not loud but an obvious sound that either is coming from the HID or the headlight bucket... is that sound normal for all the HID installs?? would there be problems? I know some of you hooked up a relay or toggle switch .. can you explain how to do that? thanks for the support..
You can wire in a 20A toggle switch to the hot that goes to the headlamp socket, trace it back if you want to splice further upstream. If you dont have tree covers you will have to find a place to mount it. As for your kury kit it looks like it puts those lights on a new circuit where as the stock passing lamps are wired off of the headlamp low beam hot. Thats why they turn off when you hit the high beams. Where is that huge rocker switch going?
I dont know about your sound but mine makes a low volume high pitched hum but since I dont turn it on until the bike is started I would never notice. You dont want to start the bike with the HID on...eventually you will blow fuses or damage the HID unit.
I learned the hard way and when I did blow a fuse it wasnt the headlamp it was my rear lights so it must have spiked back into the whole system...beware, add a switch or timed relay (which is trickier if you only have basic skills and no wiring diagram)
Ok I just watched your video...that sound seems normal to me, you will never hear it when the bike is running and it might get quieter as the unit warms up. I would say nothing to worry about.

Now with installing the switch. I am starring at the wiring diagram OW,W,Y & BK are the wires running to the bucket. Can someone identify which wires do I need to splice to hook up to a switch? this would be for a 2008 Fatboy.
Any issues yet? Battery drain or whatever? I like the idea of the toggle switch that can be mounted where there's already a slot for it on a fatboy/heritage triple tree housings
edit: i also found out that in NJ, HID conversions are illegal on all vehicles. so that's no fun.
