Try lightly wiggling the ignition switch while the bike is sitting there idling in your driveway and see if the bike cuts off. Contacts may need cleaning. Also, may sound weird but, how old is your battery. I just went thru a similar problem with my 2000 Fatboy. First it started dieing right after I got ready to pull off for work. It would die, total loss of electrical, and go back in the garage. Later, checked bike out, fuses, voltages, wiring, grounds, etc, all - aok. Test ride, get to the corner, same thing. I would hit on the ignitiion switch, and fiddle with it and it would start again. I then took the ignition switch apart and cleaned it up. Put another one on order, but started having problems with bike again before new switch came in. (still have the new switch sitting on the shelf) That helped for a bit then it started totally dieing out while riding, coming back on and backfiring. Then I would pull over, check it out and get going again only to have it die again. Pull off and it would restart. Got it home and checked the battery voltage and it was 12.7 volts. Next start it seemed to drag a bit. I had a feeling it's time had come (bike bought used) so I went ahead and changed it. I haven't had one problem with the bike dieing since I put the new battery in. A bad battery is also something you don't want to let go too long because it can cause problems with your stator, but you probably know that already. All this is just something to consider. Later!
