You would have to see this in person to appreciate how well-made it is; the leather, the stitching, the super cool quick-release latch. These bags are hand made, one at a time, by a guy named Ryan Wasson. My new bag looks and feels to me noticeably nicer than the other bags I have examined in person by Fox Creek, Leatherworks, and HD (all of which are pretty nice). I got the small version. It holds gloves and sunglasses or something similar. They make a large version if you want to carry more stuff. Check out the Anvil Customs website to see what amazing artistry this guy is capable of. The goods are not cheap, but from what I can tell price hasn't stopped most of you from purchasing what you want.
I forgot to mention- the other reason I wanted a smaller bag is so that it won't drag when the bike is leaned over. I was about to wear a hole in my old Fox Creek 5" wide bag!
$395? I'll stick with my Leatherworks for $160.
I looked and he has some decent looking work, but not to my tastes or his prices.
Damn, that is pricy! I've had leather works bags before and love them, design and quality. I've had some throw over bags since 99-2000 and they are still great condition. Converted them to bolt-ons for my new bike. Good quality as well.
Anvil seems to make good quality stuff to and there is something for everyone. If you is happy with it then it's great.
Don't want everyone to have the same bag anyway....
I have a leather works myself. I think its a flimsy piece of junk. Yes it serves its purpose and yes its easy on the wallet but ive had it for two years and 25000i miles and its just not built to last. The stitching is comming out and the leather is starting to look like crap. They are not built for someone who rides alot in all different types of weather. I also rub mine down with hd leather conditioner to no avail. I will definately be purchasing one from anvil very soon. If his bags are HALF as good as his seats. I kniw i will love it and it will last for many years.
Ryan Wasson at Anvil Customs does some amazing work. He made my Crossbones seat for me. if I didn't already have a Garage Leathers swingarm bag, I'd order one from him. In terms of Quality, you can't beat Anvil Customs and Garage Leathers.
