600 miles a day on a Bare Bones? I have to call BS on that one. Danny Gray is stiffer than a Le Pera. Did you have something on top of the seat?
Why not? My useable range is about 170-180 miles on a tank with a 3" lift, so even if someone can put about 200 miles on a tank before having to refill, that's 2-3 stops to fuel up and take a bit of a break.
I think it depends on what you are used to riding. If your *** is used to the couch on a Electra Glide then the Bare Bones is going to put a hurt on you. My *** was used to riding on a bare steel seat pan on a hardtail so my Bare Bones is just perfect. Indiana to North Carolina in a day with no problem !
I've got a bare bone with the gel and it seems just fine. I've put a good 4k miles on the bike with the bones and have had a few 100-200 mile treks with no complaints other than my chonies round the belt area above my crack starting to become apart of my ***/lower back.
maybe the gel is the key here. I grabbed mine off ebay in mint condition for less than you can buy a bones with out gel from Lepera.
Spend a few extra bucks and get some gel maybe and you won't have to have 2-3 different seats......
Just sayin!
I had a Corbin dual tour on my last bike and have done 1K in a day and 2.5K in a weekend with no complaints at all.
Was a hard choice to try the lepera but sourcing a used Pera, much easier and cheper than Corbin...
