Well, after sitting down and looking at my left foot peg, I "fixed" it by putting it at a 90* angle to the ground, which cleared the bag. You can see my right peg in my sig pic and it's leaning back, same as the left.

Such a simple solution to my "problem". Yes, I feel pretty stupid.
