Searching for possible future upgrade. Currently on a 07 Fat Boy 96 CI, Stage 1, Fuel Pak, Vance n Hines Big Shots, Lowered, 200 Tire n Chromed. 19k miles and LOVE.... this bike!
1) What is the biggest upgrade for the 96ci with a 07 Fat Boy Frame, (107?), which will be street legal, 210 oil temp, not a killer on gas. Harley only mentions 103 online. Complete rebuild, heads,cam,bore,etc....?
2) What would be the est. cost (5K?) and the fact the single brake calipers probably will not be sufficient to slow it down is it worth it?

I just woke up and it's 4 am so I am not thinking yet but I am pretty sure SE has a 120 build kit. I don't know if you have to get into the bottom end to do that though. I seen a guy pull away from the shop the other week and he just had the SE 120 kit. That thing roared and when he hit it it sounded very, very mean. I have a 96" high compression stroker motor and to be honest I don't know why I would ever need any more than that. As for rebuild and how long before you have to do anything? That would probably depend on how you ride it and how well you keep up on maintenance and clean oil in it. As for gas milage, forget it. My little 96" sucks gas like a goat in the dessert. As for oil temps? I have the Harley oil cooler and I run Amsoil and no matter how hot it got out, how much stop and go which I do very little of, I have yet to see my bike go over 200 degree's. I never "diss" anyone for their choices though or for what ever it is they want to do to their bike. Good luck and keep us posted.
120R will cost closer to $8k when finished, with a new throttle body, clutch, all the work, etc etc.. not worth it IMO.
I don't know what you mean by your friend's FatBob being in the 200 club, because there's no way a 110" motor is making 200hp/200tq unless he's got a turbocharger on it the size of nebraska.
the biggest you can go before you have to do the crank case is 107CI. FuelMoto's 107" (1755CC) kit, with head porting, and core exchange will run you less than $2,500. That includes new cams as well. According to people in the Engine forum, that motor will still get comparable gas mileage to the 96" engine. I just built mine, but haven't had a chance to ride it yet. That engine there is supposedly (again, I haven't been out on mien yet) pushing the limits of the belt drive and the stock clutch.. so factor in maybe going to a chain drive (~$350), and upgrading the clutch a bit (~$200-300).. so right there you're looking at under $3500 still.. which leaves you ~$1500 in your budget for a good dyno tune, a bigger throttle body if you want one, new tires when you burn yours off, whatevers.
Deleted milage question as my friend told me he had 60k on a Wide Glide
The 200 Club is High Performance Harleys built by Roeder Racing which must achieve a mininimum 100 in both torque ft lbs and hp; the ride is so quick and SMOOTH!
Thinking a future with 107, Cam......, concerned about that much speed with single brake calipers.

Agree with Jim, a 120R at over $8k but "searching for future upgrades" doesn't usually fall into that category. You're worried about stopping and gas mileage. Maybe you should think about this more.
You may consider doing just cams right now. My stage 1, 96"... pipes intake sert tune... was 79hp/92 tq.... did woods 555 cams and fuel moto push rods... jumped to 94hp/98 tq.
And its noticeable....
Probably keep this setup for awhile until its rebuild time. Only have 8k on the bike.
