I've been trying to remove this nut on the center console, it's loose a bit, but it seems to be stuck and I don't want to force it. Is there some type of a trick or something I'm not aware of to remove it?
just a nut with a washer and a bolt underneath. The bolt on the underside fits into a square slot in a bracket and just slides out. If it's loose enough that it has slipped out of that slot it would keep turning but then you should be able to lift the entire console up already.
Third on the Dremel. The nut can seize on the bolt and then the square on the bolt will slip and round out the square part that holds it in place. At this point it's pretty much impossible to get it loose. I used a Dremel with a cut off wheel and was very slow and careful. The bolt a little loose so I pulled up on the nut with pliers and there was enough of an angle at the bottom to cut into the bolt. I would cut as deep as I could without hitting the console and then spin the bolt a little each time until I had cut all the way around the bolt. Once I had cut all the way around as deep as I could get I grabbed it with pliers and snapped it off. Not too bad just be careful.
