I got the smoke turn signal lenses & Laydown clear Kuryakyn brake kit a while ago, but have been fighting with getting a brake bulb that I liked. Finally found the combination of a bulb that I like and getting rid of the smoke-orange turn signals in the rear. Iridium coated bulbs (from the stealer... they're Kuryakyn and run about $21 a piece).
I did have to solder a bridge across the rear of the bulb, because they're a dual filament bulb, and the rear signals use a single filament.
Very cool. I'm good on rear siggys. And doesn't look like they make an amber 1157 for the front.
Bummer. I've actually held off on using my smoked lenses for the front cuz I can't find an amber 1157 I find bright enough. I might have to go LED.
Definitely go LED. Every light on my Blackline is LED now. Love it. Mine is a '12 and I didn't need any load equalizers or anything. The turn signal display on the speedo blinks twice as fast, but the signals still blink at the same rate.
i went led all the way around, hid headlight though..... love emm...
