to adjust the clutch on a lift so that is what i have always done.
would there be any issues from doing this on the kick stand ?
No, adjustment will stay the same. Also ther is a good "how to" video on You Tube that shows to loosen the cable, set the clutch with the allen set and lock nut etc
I can't get the lock nut to break loose to save my life, mines gonna have to go to the Indy it seems
you could put in gear.... just make sure there isnt enough wheel travel to bump start the bike.
i dont have a bent wrench to get on the nut without messing the nut up so i use my pass through socket set and that lets me use the allen socket instead of the allen key .... much firmer that way
To me the best benefit of doing it on a lift is that the bike is level or I can lean it a bit to the right so no oil leaks out when the derby cover is removed. Although I always do my clutch adjustment when doing a fluid change.

i usually do both at the same time too but i didnt want to wait for the clutch to cool down when i did mine as everyone was going on a long ride.
