Default Mustang Seats for a Slim

Hey all, just curious if anyone has used one of the two solo Mustang seats on their Slim? My stock one kills my tailbone after about an hour. I see two types of solo seats, the wide touring which my boss swears by for comfort, and the regular one that looks like the stock seat without stiching. I think the wide touring one would detract from the look of the slim but if it's that much more comfortable? I'd much rather have the regular seat, I just don't want to drop 300 bucks on a seat and it not be comfortable. Any thoughts?

I bought a mustang seat for mine and it should be here tomorrow. As soon as I put a few miles on it I'll give you an update.

I have a wide touring on my FLHTK and am very happy with it. I have a sport touring with back rest ordered for the fatboy that I pick up this Friday. Width is 15" instead of the 17.5 on the wide touring.

You will be happy with the Mustang seat

I've been riding on mine for a couple weeks now and it's definitely more comfortable than the stock one. I spent all day in the saddle about a week ago and no back pain whatsoever! Plus I like the look-it fits the bike a little better than some of the super plushy seats.

Sooooo...I bought the seat, rode for just under 300 miles and it IS much nicer than stock. However, on the way back from that trip i stopped at San Diego Harley for a helmet lock and left with a Road Glide ;-) I traded the slim in for it but kept the seat. So if anyone wants it or knows of anyone who wants it I'll sell it for $200 OBO. Like i said, I bought it brand new from Mustang for $270 plus tax and shipping and put less than 300 miles on it. So obviously perfect condition. email me at conjurski@yahoo.com if interested. If not, it's going on craigslist and ebay next. LOVE the Road Glice BTW. Night and day difference. i loved the look of the Slim but it just wasn't enough bike for me.

Ya, the Slim is a young man's bike for sure.

Not interested in the Mustang, but just a public service announcement for those looking for a more comfortable ride than the stock Slim seat:

The HD Spring solo is surprisingly comfortable on the Slim. It actually absorbs the bumps, and looks cool with the motif of the bike, IMHO.

YMMV.

The one bad thing about the spring solo is that it sets you up much higher than the stocker or the mustang!

Valid point. And I must admit I like the ride down in the cockpit of the Slim. Still, I kinda like the ride up top too, and almost every compliment I get mentions the spring seat. For some reason, even the Mustang just looks too billowy for me on this particular bike.

I guess I'm lucky I have a skinny ****. haha.

And I'll admit my first comment in this thread kinda had an agenda beyond seat preference. I see very few post by the OP, and then a kinda bait and switch thing where he buys the new seat and suddenly has to sell it. (Kinda like a classified ad.) But what do I know. And if someone needs the Mustang, it's all good.
