Wanted a solo seat for my 07 Deluxe but was having a difficult time deciding on which one to buy. Finally bit the bullet, tossed a coin, and bought a Danny Gray Buttcrack over the C&C. Since I found limited info in helping me decide, I'm posting this thread in the hope of helping someone else out there. This is my first posting so I hope this works- pictures should be in an album on my home page???
Quality is good and seat went on in a couple of minutes with no problems. Of course the seat came in when we had straight days of rain. Finally got a chance to ride and took it out on three separate days. Went for two short rides (20 & 40 minutes) on city roads with plenty of potholes & bumps and one longer highway ride (100 miles).
So far I'm very happy with the seat although I think it'll take some time getting used to the ridge on the seat. After the third ride I was already getting used to it but you definitely know you have company down there. Not uncomfortable but it is somewhat un-natural. Then again, it may be adding to the comfort but I cant be sure. Also, riding position, with stock handlebars/riser, is much more comfortable for me (30 inch inseam).
The seat is feeling more comfortable than stock (at least on these shorter trips). I'm not sure if I can do a 9 hour ride on it but I dont see many of those in my future (I did a couple of nine hr rides on the stock seat and although my rear was not happy I did get through them without stopping except for gas twice).
If anyone has any questions, Ill try to answer them. Have some patience, Ill try to answer quickly but Im not on regularly. Hope this helps.
