I changed my '04 heritage from the stock bag brackets to EZ Brackets or Ghost Brackets. I forget which it was, but they are very similar. I also have the detachable backrest and tour pack. As someone else said, let them know when ordering and they will send the proper mounting kit. I love being able to take the bags off for local rides and then put them on for times when I may need to shed layers or carry other stuff. Removable bags make cleaning the rear end much easier. When the bags are removed you are left with some stainless "*****", but they really are not bad to look at. Just add chrome in other places and no one will notice them.
