Default Conflicting info on risers

Hi all: I am getting conflicting advise on risers for my '08 fatboy. I have read several threads claiming 4inch pullback risers will work without changing cables/lines or messing with the wiring. However the local dealer says they won't work. What say you?

My ultimate goal is simple: move the handle back 1-2 inches. Chris.

4 inch curved pullback risers work perfectly without changing any lines. I promise. I installed them myself last winter absolutely no problems.

And my local dealership, who by the way has an excellent reputation and has always done well by me, told me this when I asked them. "We're not sure if you will need new lines or not, but we tell our customers what the cost will be just in case they do need new lines because they are not cheap."

I installed the same risers with no problems on my 07 Fatboy. you'll have to tweak the steel portion of the brake line and give the wire harness a little tug for a little extra wire length, but they'll go on , no fuss, no muss..

oh.. make sure you cover your frt fender and fuel tank..

those caps are pretty heavy..

I had them installed on my FLSTC also and didn't need cables. At first, the dealer thought they would be needed, but in the end the tech was able to make do with what was there.

I installed the 4 inch risers myself and never needed to change out any cables. The dealer may just be trying to increase his profit level. You can buy the part and install it yourself and what you save will buy you a torque wrench at harbor freight. It is really a pretty simple job. If I can do it anyone should be able to. There is still slack in the cable like there was before.

I had just changed out my cables last winter for SS versions. So doing so again does not bother me - well except for the cost. My BIG worry is the wiring. I don't like "pulling" on wire to try and get more slack. I guess the simplest thing to do is just pull the bars out of the existing risers and see how much play I have.

Thanks all for the input, Chris.
