Default Anybody ever install these on a Fat Boy?

Installing these rear axle nut covers on my 2012 FB http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...-nut-cover-kit
The left side isn't a problem, but the right side will not fit as it hits the muffler.
The instructions do say to adjust the muffler so the cover doesn't hit the muffler. But I see no way to adjust the muffler as much as needed to clear this cover.
Anybody have any ideas ? Anybody ever install these on a FB ?

I'm rather surprised they actually stick out that far.
However, you need a new exhaust anyway. The stocks have to go. Not to mention, the exhaust currently hides your axle covers anyway, so what would the point be?
For now, maybe just use the left one. Nobody would know the difference until you change exhaust.

If you have a lift, raise your bike a bit. Doesn't really have to be off the floor. Should give you enough room.

Phhht, those are the cheaper ones... Are you serious? I paid 42.95 for plain black ones up front! Don't ever look at the HD parts catalog or you might pop a vien! hah!

I went with the J&P gloss black ones for the rear. I have Rush slip ons and mine went on with no issues at all. No lift needed.

These companies sure are proud of their axle nut covers.

I have the bike on my lift, the rear wheel is off the floor. There is no way this sucker is going on.
I did install just the left one. But from behind the bike it really looks unbalanced that way.
