Default Flickering brake light when accelerating

Hi guys I have a problem with my brake light. I have a night train 2008 and the brake light flickers when accelerating. I changed the front brake lever to see if I could rectify the problem. I had this sort of problem before which the brake light would stay on and now changing the lever fix that problem and created an other. This is really bugging me can some one help please.

Did you replace the switch or the spring clip that holds the switch in place?

It is most likely the switch. They can easily get messed up when changing brake lever. Check the switch.

The lever wears out? Really? News to me. There is a possibility that your master cylinder is gummed up and not pushing the handle back to its home position into the switch.

Most likely the spring, ie. the small folded piece of metal, that has worn out, not the actual lever.

Probably the switch. Make sure the little metal V clip is behind the switch and it is tight.

There can be inconsistencies in the levers so they can make it better or sometimes make it worse.

I had this issue and wound up using something like epoxy to "build up" the part on the break lever that touches the switch. A few test fits and some sanding and it's been good to go fore years. Some guys have actually put a screw into the switch button to give some adjustment.

I went with the screw. Fast, easy, cheap fix and it works great.

HAd the same problem with our '05 Deluxe. Changed out everything (switch, spring, ...). It turned out to be a bad master cylinder. Was told this has been seen as an issue.

YMMV
