Ok, I am ready to buy a new harley and am torn between the fat boy or a night train. I like both but am trying to make a decision. Just some info about me,, I am 6'3, 36 years old and will be selling my vtx 1800 to get the harley. I like the honda just really want a harley. Does that make since? what bike do you think would suit me better? I know I will be going down in size but like I said just something about always wanting one. Thanks for the help.
I'd say most HD dealers will let you test drive one. I'd start with testing em out... You like the sight of chrome? or Like Blacked out Engine with barely any chrome showing? All up too you. What kind of riding will you be doing? or want to do... ETC...
I was going to buy an '07 Night Train, but I found a good deal on an '06 Fatboy with 605 miles on it. I did need to move the floorboards forward because I'm 6'3" also and it feels like I'm riding with my knees in my chest with the stock floorboards.
Dude - go for a test drive!
These bikes have a lot of different thingd beyond looks!
The Fatboy is ganna feel more planted on the ground with the wide front tire, and the NT
is ganna dance a little - and some people dig that....
Both are great bikes - test em out and then you'll know.
Yeah, I guess I may try and test drive one this weekend. I think I like the forward controls like the NT has and not so much the foot boards. However, Could I set the fat boy up that way?
Thanks
I'm 6-0 220 the Fatboy and boards are cramped to me. Also don't like sitting on top of the bike if you know what I mean. With the Train you sit down on the bike. I was ok with the stock footpeg location but went ahead and put 3" extentions and now for me is much more comfortable. Ride both, you will know right away which one you want. I like em low.
I really wanted a Heritage, thought that was just the perfect bike. Unfortunately well, maybe fortunately, my local dealer did not have one. I tried a Fatboy, and didn't feel comfortable on it, I am 6'3" with a 34" inseam. After that I tried a XL1200C and really liked the forward controls. I asked my dealer what it would cost to put forward controls on the Fatboy, and he suggested a Night Train, of course the only NT he had in stock was a barely used 03 100 anniversary model in Gun Metal Blue with 4600 miles on it. It was love at first sight. I brought it home last week. You just don'tknow until you try.
