2 years and not a single problem. When I bought my SS never did I think I was buying something that was trouble free or that I would never have an issue with. There is stuff that happens on no matter what you do or buy. I did buy it though knowing if I ever did have a problem it wasn't going to be a problem getting it fixed or replaced. I'll pay extra for a life time warranty anytime, any day of the week.

Alot of people want to criticize the guy just for asking why? It is not like he is bashing the company or the customer service he is just asking why the product has broke on him 3 times. I am looking hard at this product my self and I have read all the awesome stories about it but I also want to know the negative so a fair comparison can be made. Lets face it, it is very expensive and when I pay that kind of money I appreciate the warranty but I dont expect to have to use it. Most companies that offer long term or lifetime warranties do so because the product is bullet proof and they rarely have warranty claim. I also disagree that having to tear the system down 3 times is a pain and does cost him time and riding is that not worth anything. Your comparison to stockers is not even in same park you would have to buy 4 sets of stock shocks before you came close to price and I have never heard of that happening on any bike. From what I hear JD is the most stand up guy you could ever want to do business with and that is awesome especially in todays business but when or if there are problems with product we should be able to talk about them without all the criticism. If you bought aftermarket wheels or any other product and had to send them back 3 times would you say the same thing?

I had my check valve slowly leaking w shortly after I first got my system. Called JD and talked to him about what was going on. He had me check a couple things on my end then had me send just the shock body back to him. Instead of fixing my old unit he just went ahead a shipped out a brand new unit to me. Real real happy with he product and the customer service JD provides, I figure **** happens no matter what it's how it's handled after that counts. As far as the OP having to send it off 3 times I can belive that just for the simple fact that I have had that kind of luck in the past (not with the ss). One thing I did do though is keep my stock shocks just in case something did/does happen. About 2 hours and my bike is on the road again. I know this doesn't help if you are stranded out of town but I have seen a couple of threads where JD stepped up and overnighted a new shock to get the guy back on the road. That's customer service.

ok ok ok !
look guys i wasn't looking to start any crap. I love the system and like i said jd has stood 100% behind the system. I was just wondering if i was the only one. I was looking for some kind of explaination of why this was happening. Could it be the way i installed? I have never heard back from jd as to what was actually wrong. I was thinking maybe an alignment problem? Maybe there was wear on one side of one cylinder or maybe the swing arm possibly bent or something. Had no intension of starting all this. Gentleman i still recommend this sytem as i did this weekend in daytona. I just looking for some other reason.

I don't think anyone can give you a free, fare and accurate diagnosis just by reading a thread here. Also, maybe the reason you are losing air could be something totally different from why someone else has lost air. I think the best plan of action is to just let JD find the problem, figure it out and fix it. I have seen 1 complaint on here and JD actually made a design change based on that 1 complaint. JD does not mind picking up the phone especially if someone is having a problem. I seen on here a few weeks ago where a guy was having a problem and I told him the same thing, call JD. The guy told me he didn't want to bother JD with such a small problem that he was having. Don't think of it that way, anyone, because JD is always looking to improve his product and if you let him know of any problem you might be having, big or small, he can fix that and improve his product even further based on your complaint.

ANYONE can take my money, your money and treat us like Kings.....until we walk out the door. I am interested in how I am treated after the sale, not before it. We all know that sometimes some things just go to **** on us. At least with the SS and JD he will do his very best to correct the problem or just send you out a new one. Of course when we spend this kind of money we don't expect or anticipate any problems but that's in a perfect world. I can assure you that JD will make this right for you. Yes, it's a pain with shipping and all but hey, with any other product or vendor you would be lucky just to get an answering machine!!! I hope you get it worked out soon and back up and running. Ride safe Bro...

Well fatty95 I see you don't have many post and just joined this month so it will take you some time to realize that there are a lot of differing opinions on this website and Shotgun Shocks and JD has a very strong following.

After a while you'll learn to ignore the negative or non-subject related comments and glean for the comments related to the subject at hand.

All that being said, this is a great site and 90% of the members are very active and provide great opinions and advice.

Anyway, I don't have SS so I can't comment on your subject but from what I've read if I come across some extra money, I'll be calling JD and start riding on air.

The reason there isn't a bunch of people troubleshooting is because SS has such great customer service. Most people never find out what the issue was because JD is super fast in just replacing the effected parts.

The only thing JD has ever mentioned to me when I have sent mine back is that some swing arms are on the outer limits of the tolerances thus causing some issues. Seems to a reasonable explanation to me. Would also account why some have issues while other do not.
