Okay good to know, thanks guys. Not looking for a sport bike, but I don't want to feel like it struggles to corner.

yeh- i don't want you guys to get the wrong impression on the upgrade suggestions, this has nothing to do with making the BO a sport bike or more sport-bike-like. I ride and love all kinds of bikes, when something feels "wrong" or not safe on a bike I just know it, and if I like the bike I have to see if it is something reasonably fixable and not overly expensive / hard to do.

Fortunately in this case, it is a straight-forward fix, but it is not something that has been well documented or discussed. I ride pretty average on the Breakout, but I don't want to crap myself if I hit a pothole / rough section in a corner at 40mph or have to suddenly stop because the blonde in front of me decided to slam her brakes and whip an illegal u-turn into Starbucks. This took care of it and I can ride much more confidently and just enjoy the bike. that's what it's all about.

I don't think anyone here is under the illusion that they want their FXS HD to handle more like a sport bike- Most of us have already been there done that. I too was going to sell it because of cornering and braking, but now it is remaining a permanent part of the bike stable.

The upgrades i suggested will only get rid of a magnified issue that (IMO) should not be there, and it's certainly not present as much on other FXS bikes- but don't expect more from these upgrades than just getting the bike back to riding like it should. For about the cost of a set of pipes it's hands down a worthwhile upgrade for the BO. My main reason for doing it was safety especially with the wife on the back, this was not a "performance minded" mod. The nice thing is though, that is about the only negative thing I can find about the Breakout. I absolutely love everything else about the bike.
I freaking LOVE My Breakout!!!!!!

Never found a corner I couldn't get around. IMHO what folks have been discussing is more about "customizing" than deficiencies. This ability to customize is just another plus in my book. It applies to most HD models.

24V. You are a genius! Because that IS how you fix the cornering on a Breakout. I've been thinking about buying one since I saw yours. In addition to the Breakout of course.

They really do compliment each other perfectly. The FZ is so damn cheap it is hard to resist.
Everytime I get on one bike I wonder why I still have the other. Then I ride the other and feel the same, it is funny. They are both awesome at what they do best.
