HKMark21, RockerB- yeh thanks guys, sorta seems a shame to NOT do cams with all the other mods done, especially gearing. Ida been happy with the 37, 57, se204 (and other similar grind cams), it's really splitting hairs between them as a drop in on a stock motor- but I ended up only outlaying $103 for the 57h cams new (ebay seller = $213 asking price and I had a fat wad of ebay bucks to blow). so it basically came down to just grabbing the best deal.

now just gotta get the torringtons, pushrods, gasket kit, and find a decent shop. Sure I could buy the tools needed and do it myself, but for the cost of the tools I'm almost at the cost of just letting a good shop do it. but if I can't find a good shop in my area then well, need I even say I will DIY...

what say you guys on the stock lifters - keep or replace?

I had such few miles on the motor, that I went ahead and kept the stock parts including bearings, I was told by someone I trust that it would be fine!! Remember if you DIY to have the right cam spacer/washer on hand...held me up for a little bit!! also new push rod tubes for the adjustable rods, I used Andrews adjustable push rods and HD tubes...

I suppose it's about time for a new battery. I keep my BO on a tender when it's not being ridden. After a very sluggish start today, it ran but then kept dying as I got about a mile from the house. I ended up limping it home using a lot of throttle to keep it from cutting out on me.
Is anyone running aftermarket batteries? I'm stationed in England and don't want to fork over 165 pounds (about $240) for an HD battery at the dealership.
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks fellas.

This is the battery I bought:

Amazon.com: YTX20HL-BS, YTX20HL, YTX20L-BS, YTX20L, GYZ20HL, 4011496 Replacement Battery 500cca Ultra High Performance Lightning Start WPX20L-LS Sealed AGM for Motorcycle, ATV, Jet Ski, Snowmobile, Side x Side, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Ski-Doo, Pure Polaris, Can-Am, BRP: Automotive Amazon.com: YTX20HL-BS, YTX20HL, YTX20L-BS, YTX20L, GYZ20HL, 4011496 Replacement Battery 500cca Ultra High Performance Lightning Start WPX20L-LS Sealed AGM for Motorcycle, ATV, Jet Ski, Snowmobile, Side x Side, Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Ski-Doo, Pure Polaris, Can-Am, BRP: Automotive

My battery gets a little stressed starting the engine, as I have the 2014 (not the watered down later ones) Stage 4 Race kit, and my compression came out right near the upper limit for streetability. My stock battery gave up in october after 1-1/2 years, and I replaced it with this battery (although my HD dealer also replaced the original under warranty with a new one, and I am keeping that on a Battery tender as a spare). The new battery, despite its hype, dodes not really strike me as "stronger" than the factory one, but it IS starting my engine very reliably so far.
