Another question for anyone who can answer:
I would assume that a bad battery would cause the bike to keep shutting down since the stator is attempting to charge a bad battery and the entire electrical system (fuel pump, lights, ECU, etc) runs off the battery. Am I correct?
Is anyone running aftermarket batteries? I'm stationed in England and don't want to fork over 165 pounds (about $240) for an HD battery at the dealership.
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks fellas.

Called the AA got me started and I limped home with them following, changed the battery and was all good

P.S Currently looking for a breakout
I am interested in hearing there thoughts on them & also if someone can confirm a part number for me
The only part number for the Breakout in Chrome that I can find is 610-32 or is there different numbers for different baffle arrangements.....

you have a computer controlled bike- put in a new good battery and don't ride it around with a bad or weak battery.
as far as battery tenders they only work for so long then the battery needs to be desulphated. if you buy a battery "maintainer" that will provide desulphating pulses and has specific modes to prevent that type of problem it will keep your battery lasting longer. and I would not buy an OE battery I'd get something better in quality and cranking amps. always get the largest cranking amp battery you can for the $.

The HD model also comes in 2 different amp ratings, and has 2 lights that communicate proper connections and charging status.
The convenient way to use one is to have a harness permanently mounted on the bike that you simply plug the charger into as needed.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
first post on this forum, I picked up a 2015 breakout in radioactive green, last wednesday, so i'm coming up to 2 weeks on it, and so far, i'm loving the bike! I will admit, it is my first harley, so I am definitely not all knowing in the harley specific end of things, but it is not my first bike.
I've got lots of questions i'll be asking over the next while, and a bunch of places i need to put money that I don't have. The first question, which I can't seem to find much of an answer for is what all is needed to change the bars on the breakout. I love the look of the breakout, i love the feel, but as a tall guy (6'2") I find that the low drag bars have me reaching for them and my arms get strained, and my back gets sore riding for more than about 20 minutes. I am a part of my local chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse, so I ride year round, and with the way we work, i'm often on rides to do our work, that is several hours long, as such, both fashion and function are incredibly important to me.
I'm looking at ape hangers of some sort, probably something between a 10 and 16" I'm not wanting to dry my armpit hair all day long, but something just lower than my shoulders would be a GREAT help on comfortability. I tried searching around on the forum and this thread, but with 300 or so pages, it's hard to read every post. I'm looking for something similar to the yaffe bars, or chizzled bars. The thing I can't find is what length of wiring and cables I need. I spoke with my local dealer and they gave me a stupid answer, I was told to put the bars on, get everything assembled then trace out the path of where I want everything to run with string, then take that measurement, add a few more inches, and bring it to them to order. Yeah, that would work, but I don't want my bike to be down for a week or two for parts to be ordered in... I read the CVO/Blackline (Blackout/Breakline) thread, and with some of you guys waiting 2 months for your dashes to come in, that's just not acceptable for me, in the middle of making this switch, only to find I might have measured wrong.
I would like to be able to have a pile of boxes, and put everything on in one day, and be done with it. I'm sure there's enough people on here who have either figured it out some mathematical way, or measured with string, or done the trial and error method to find what works and what doesn't.
and a better question would be, would it be best for me to start a new thread on bars for the Breakout, so the answers are not lost in the middle of this 100000 post thread?

With OEM bars being ground zero, so to speak, if you plan on going to say, 16" bars why not measure your existing cables and then add 16" plus (minus) any adjustment in slack you deem desirable based on existing cable routing ?
