I remember some guys on here having installed footboards. On a BO I don't like them.....just don't look right, IMO. I would expect them to further decrease the already bad lean angle. Plus, being 6'4" I don't think they would be comfy at all, I love my 3" forward extensions....

Something else to consider, Kuryakn makes a "peg mount cruise pegs". I have them installed on my bike and they are amazingly comfortable. I now have 3 positions I can rest my feet. I did a 2000 mile trip back in October and they were worth their weight in gold.

Default Breakout pulley combo 30/70

This mod has been posted extensively here https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...p-to-13-a.html but since mine is done with HD component's I thought I'd list the parts I used

Front 30T HD83595-011

HD40447-01 70T rear pulley..now this pulley bolts straight up however it does have 1mm less offset than the HD42200007 66T pulley and it is 2mm wider in track @30mm...you could use as is or you can remove rear belt face ring and machine track down to suit 24mm belt..I chose to machine my track to 26mm ..looks better than having a 6mm gap between belt and pulley face plus will stop belt walk
Tork screws hold rear belt face ring in place ..use loctite when refitting
Face to be machined after removing ring
Ring removed from pulley
gaskets required are
34934-06
60547-06

For Speedo calibration I used the Dakota digital Sim-1A module only because I don't have a PVision..I'm running SESTP bike has been dyno tuned with SESTP The module requires hard wiring into speed sensor harness on later models as the plugs dont fit

I don't have the tools nor the lifting facilities so I'm having my local dealer do the swap so no step by step pic's but there are plenty that have been posted already here https://www.hdforums.com/forum/softa...p-to-13-a.html

BTW my breakout is a 103 with stage 4 race kit pumping 112/113 and I will be using the Dunlop e3 250/40/18
according to tyre calculator https://tiresize.com/tyre-size-calculator/
the 250 is approximately 7mm taller then stock 240 so add that to the 9mm that stk tyre will move fwd due to swap and I'll need 17mm clearance to inner guard.
you can use this tool to work things out www.gearingcommander.com

as for the belt guards you can reuse the upper without mods but the lower will not fit.I'm going to try a lwr guard from pre 07 softail 70T

Will edit post after job done

regards

Bodgie, thx for the update on your pulley swap. Keep us updated on your experience with the Dakota module. According to my HD mech it's quite tricky to access the VSS cables to splice in the Sim 1A. Your dealer may be spending some labor on that part.

Also I'm very interested in what you find out about fitting a lower belt guard from an earlier Softail.

My bike has been updated with the front pulley. For the time being I will call it done. Anyway bike is stored now until March.....only then I can try what difference the front pulley swap makes. My HD mech was quite impressed with only the 6.x % increase in torque etc. when test riding the bike after the install.

For all who are interested in this pulley upgrade I can confirm that the 30T Tri-Glide pulley 83595-011 works fine with the stock belt on '14 Breakouts.

Hey eagle ray good to know the HD 30t pulley works..
the vss cable should be easy if done once rear wheel removed and inner guard liner removed..
finding a stock plastic lwr guard from early softy is going to be a challenge nothing on ebay other than new chrome was hoping someone from the states had tried one out see if it fits ,probably dime a dozen there..

Default Mustang seat

Is anyone using a Fred Kodlin Signature Series seat from Mustang? If so, how do you like it?

Thanks for the tip on machining the pulley down Bodgie

Just wish I could find a 70 tooth rear in the same style as what's on my 2014 CVO Breakout

I have had the 30 tooth on the front for over 18 months & love it
