Here in Texas, you need to get a motorcycle safety inspection annually, and the horn must be there and be in working order.

I was also looking at the Stebel Nautilus Compact Twin Air Horn, but also believe is too big.

I just found and ordered the Arlen Ness 70-204 on Amazon for $169.50 shipped. The photo shows it in black but the description says chrome, so not sure which one I will actually receive. The 70-204 pn no longer seems to appear on the Ness website, nor anywhere else I looked, so no way to check which finish this pn referred to. Either one should look fine on my bike. And I really like (a) the loudness, (b) the true plug and play installation, and (c) the apparent quality.

edit: The Dennis Kirk site has the 70-204 and says it's black . . .

Perfect! Yes looks like the picture is correct but not the description. I will also get one ordered.

Ya Jim, it's black, that's the one I have...Ebay and Amazon often have the wrong picture and/or discription, good to always go by the part #...

I agree, but unfortunately here in Texas you need a horn for the state inspection.

In addition, in an accident where someone say cut you off and would otherwise be totally at fault, the other guy's insurance company could use your lack of a horn as a contributory factor to the accident and transfer partial responsibility to you.

Or worse, if a pedestrian walks into your path and you hit him because you had nowhere else to go to avoid the accident and were already inside the required braking distance, but also could not warn him out of the way via a horn, you get an even worse transfer of responsibility because the pedestrian almost always is judged to have the right of way.

A black colored horn is pretty much invisible on our Breakouts, and also does not generally require either maintenance or repair, so why make a big issue of removing it?

Default Mods

Well guys, I've been busy doing several mods but I have no pics yet. Here's what I've done.

National Cycle Flyscreen (Dark Tint)
Relocated plate to vertical axle mount w/Custom Dynamics black frame
Custom Dynamics Black Billet taillight
Custom Dynamics Bullet inserts LED taillight clusters
Custom Dynamics Bullet inserts LED Front Turn Signal clusters
V&H Big Radius 2-1 "Black" from a Fatboy

Changing out the pipes turned out to be the most difficult. I purchased them from a member here and they were priced okay and a little rough. The shields were slightly discolored and had a couple scars on them. UPS beat them up on the end and the heatshield tip was bent in at a 90 degree angle.
I straightened the shield and had them all powder coated black. I know that powder coating isn't as good a ceramic when heat is involved, but it was extremely reasonable so I went with it for the time being.
I also had to purchase 02 sensor adapters (18 mm to 12 mm).
I finished it last night at 11 PM and its been raining all day so I haven't had a chance to fire it up to see how they sound or perform.

Will post pics and results as soon as the weather permits.
