Understand, I'm reaching that point in my life as well.....
Aww c'mon guys !! I have yet to see a Rally that reserved the "rear of the line" for the exclusive use of unmanageably slow and unwieldy Breakouts !!
The BO has a long wheelbase, low clearance, and a poor wearing chubby rear tire; thats why I bought it ! With a bit of "gettin used to" and a mod here or there, there isn't much in the Harley fleet it won't run with, (or around ).
I absolutely LOVE my BO. I do see another bike in the stable after this one is paid off. More than likely a CVO Road King. But, for now, I've managed to make it a bar hopper or a touring bike. You would be amazed what air suspension and a few mods will do for a Breakout on a long haul.
I love my breakout as well, it's why I shared pics and ideas, but for some reason speed and handling got thrown at me? While the speed and handling of a breakout are good and can be made better, it'll never be as good as a bike designed for it, and if one is only concerned with modifications that enhance speed and handling why get a cruiser?

Agreed. First thought that crosses my mind when people ask. "How can I stop the pegs from scraping on my Breakout?". Well, you bought the wroooong bike if you're looking to carve corners and ride the chicken strips off.
