If you swap your stock shocks for Progressive Suspension 422s (regular or with RAP) you can lower by up to 2", AFAIK. 1 in. is no problem at all. Not all people like them but in any case they are an improvement over the stock shocks.

If you think changing the rear tire made an improvement, wait 'till you put on a properly sized front tire. The factory tires SUCK.

Don't wait for the original H-D tire to wear out. Get rid of it ASAP.

It is impossible to over state how much better the bike will handle, lol

....ask anyone on here who's switched tires if they'd EVER go back to the factory tires...be ready to duck!

IMHO it would be reasonable to assume hundreds have done it.

For front tire? I'm running a Metzeler ME888 120/70-21 to match the Metzeler rear tire. Quite happy with it.

But there are other brands and people who are happy with them, too. Most important is to get rid of that 130/60 stocker!

Pretty sure this is normal but just wanted to verify. Installed 1.5inch spacers on my 2016 breakout. The spacer were flush on both ends but the BO didn't have flush connection to sit on the forks. Didn't stare to long at it as I had a buddy helping but there appears to be little bumps (for lack of a better term) on the forks. I installed the spacers with blue locktite and appropriate torque. Just checking to see if other BOs have the same issue. I mean I would like a flush fit but I'm okay with this tiny gap. Thanks for your help fellas.

I really don't belong here, (I just love Breakouts) I have a Night Train with a 200X18 wide wheel kit and there isn't even 1/4 inch on either side of the swingarm or fender! Obviously I was kidding when I said I hated him....

When you say forks do you mean they don't sit flush on the trees? Was there a rubber bushing on the original set-up?

Correct, the trees, I don't recall any rubber bushings when I put on the risers, I just remember what appeared to be metal bumps on the top of the trees.
