I have the bullet fairing and they do have breakout specific mounting hardware. Looks killer and fit good too. No problems at all, 15 minute job.

I ordered and Installed a Custom Dynamics LED to replace the silly rear reflector

removed the rear fender

Loosened the struts from the fender, but did not remove them yet.

slid packing tape under the rear of the strut and traced the outline of the strut on the tape.

used the inner fender and lined it up with the holes on the outside of the fender and marked on the tape where it came. Also I eyeballed the inner line that represents the thickness of the lip on the strut, and eyeballed the placement of the hole to be drilled.

Drilled hole in fender (kind of hurt my heart to drill in a fender so new, but it is all for the mods)

used the supplied 3m adhesive promoter on bottom of fender and stuck the LED in place. I think i placed it to far back and am still deciding if I like it there or if I should move it further toward the rear lip of the fender.

ran the wires through the hole I drilled then through the strut.

did the same think on the other side, but it was a bit more difficult due to the wiring for the license plate light also being there.

put the strut back on fender and pulled wires to take up the excess from under the strut.

wired to bike and put it all back together.

Now I ask for opinions. Should I leave it back that far in the fender, so that it only puts off the glow on the tire and behind the bike, or should I move the LED closer to the rear of the fender so that the LEDs can actually be seen from behind me.

Also I want to make the light a dual function Running/Brake light, but could not find a wire that was just brake. Does anyone have a wiring diagram of the Breakout?

All I see in that last photo is "a glow" on the tire, no real light. I think you should move the LEDs much closer to the lip of the fender, as a safety issue. That "glow" will be of very little value in rainy or foggy conditions, and on a regular starry night, a following driver won't see it until VERY close to hitting you.

The unused space in the tail light connectors has a brake wire on the other side.
