The chrome side pieces is how the back fender is mounted and secured. I have a 2017 BO

I lowered mine and had to modify the passenger seat bolt that sits under the rear fender.

Yep, not much to it. I removed mine to replace the reflector assy with the Custom Dynamics billet LED light.

Default 2020 Breakout Shotgun Shock

Just ordered a shotgun shock for my 2020 breakout. Are there any good write ups on here or anywhere else for the install ? I tried searching but couldn’t find anything.

It's not raked out as much, but is considerably heavier at ~ 760 lbs wet. I've had no problems with how the Breakout handles at all. It's actually a bit more nimble than I was expecting.
Later iterations of the BO seem to have come with improvements, some obvious and some perhaps not, and other changes like a wheelbase about 3" shorter than pre '17 models. As an owner of a '14 BO I can attest that the OEM front ends were crap and handling may be why the MoCo shortened the BO up, (just guessing). I've added heavier springs, an emulator, and a fork brace to my BO and the difference is transformative as far as handling is concerned. A long WB machine won't be as nimble as one with a shorter WB. Thats just science . That said if your BO dives on aggressive breaking or compresses when cornering fast, consider a change of springs and an emulator, (or a complete cartridge). With regard to a fork brace, you'd just have to try one to know I guess. Having experienced the ride both with and without one, I've come to the conclusion that while our "Sporty" front ends suit the style of these machines, they aren't quite up to the task on these heavier models. They "do" flex. That said, the flex isn't all that apparent to the rider until you take it away with a brace then, wow ! Your BO will corner like its mounted on a rail. The improved cornering with a brace installed may not feel comfortable at first as cornering response with the more rigid setup will feel less forgiving. You'll get used to that in short order and be riding more aggressively just from the confidence a more solid feel inspires. All of this applies to my '14 BO. YMMV.

It's by a place in Brazil apparently: Worldwide Wings Custom. That's TWO INCH diameter tubing, and apparently the workmanship is pretty exquisite. Given the weight of a more typical 1.25" tubing engine guard, this one must weigh about 20 lb I would estimate!

The retired police motorcycle officer who runs the "Preload" website got one and did a short video with it on his 2023 Breakout. It DOES look gorgeous in the video. But, very, very costly.

Though we BO riders don't need the faux forward footrests like many riders use, guards do have their practical side, depending on what you're protecting.

Default Fat boy headlight for a breakout

I have a 2018 breakout and I was doing some looking online and came across a fat boy headlight on a breakout and was curious as to if that’s something I can do? And where would I find it, I think the Necelle of the fat boy makes the front end of the already aggressive breakout look more aggressive and fuller, I’ve felt since the headlight and the crappy Amazon “fairing” lip thing that sits on top of the headlight are too dinky

Bro, love the look!!!! How a BO should look.....almost. Now if only HD would make them actually look like a chopper, but with that HD comfort, I would pay an ungodly amount for one!! We need HD to start building the BO like my old Redneck Engineering Chopper. None of that silly crap like windscreens and cup holders. Jeeez! That's what my RKS is for!

How did you like riding on this seat? Did you try with the back rest or passenger pillion?
