Got my HCC package on Thursday night. Took about a week total from the time I ordered. I got the Complete HCC 1 1/4" 16" Apes kit. Very nice quality if I do say so myself. I installed a set of Wild 1 Chubbys and Barnett Cables on my 98 Fatboy a few years ago. I spent about 600 total on the parts, and the soldering of the freaking wires was ridiculous. This kit set me back 800 or so and I got the HD harness plugs added. So easy to install. Only time consuming part was running the new cables which is easy regardless. I picked up a set of chrome knurled grips from the dealership, and got the cable clamp kit from HCC along with their Gorilla top clamp and poly bushings. With the clamp my bars are secured my bars nicely.
I was having issue with horrible backfiring through carb and pipes, and even burnt my pipes it running so lean. I had bought the bike 2 weeks ago and was running like crap. I rebuilt the carb with cv-performance kit, rejetted to 190/46, drained old fuel, changed the plugs (old plugs were gapped to 0.25 for some reason), got some white plug wires, and a new air filter. Bike runs amazing. I also installed Quiet Baffles from Vance and Hines as previous owner was running no baffles. Next is to have my White Wall Shinkos mounted. I ordered a Killer Performance Carb last week and will most likely either run that one and sell my oem one or vice versa. Anyways enough about it lol. Im just happy to be back on a Harley!!
Good looking FatBoy sir. How you like your Shinkos? Was thinking about getting a pair when the time comes to replace the OEMs, but read a lot of negatives about them...
