Wifey is really enjoying riding with me on our 2013 Deluxe much more so than our 2004 FXDL. I am good with that as its a good husband/wife thing. Her one complaint is the heat from the right rear foot peg that is getting cooked by the V&H BSS pipes. The peg is above both pipes getting double the heat. Looking for a solution! Talked to the Kury folks about their peg extension #7936 but they say it cannot be used with the Deluxe because of weight on the peg arm could make the whole thing rotate around. Dead Creek Cycles makes a passenger foot peg extension #1096. I am thinking that moving the peg out 1 inch may help and putting on HD peg#50576-05 may help with the heat. Thinking HD #50576-05 has more metal than the stock peg to help dissipate the heat. Has anyone used the peg extensions? I am worried that with a 1 inch extension and 1 inch longer bolt, that there will be a good bit of weight and stress on that bolt/threaded hole in frame when she gets on and off(she aint that heavy at 120lbs) BUT! If the longer bolt or threaded hole gives way, it will come crashing down on the pipes(if that happens I am not worried about her foot, but the pipes). Has anyone used this product or have had a similar experience with heat at the right rear peg that has worked out a solution? The ideal location I think would be up and out 1 inch. Thanks
Agreed with above. Don't think it's footpeg position that needs changing. Kurakyn makes a really slick miniboard that is adjustable on both axis. It has three holes through board to mount it forward, mid, or back. And splines so it can be rotated up and down. Haven't put them on passenger yet but gonna. Do have them on my drivers though.
Thx for the reply guys. Does your boards try to rotate when significant other puts pressure on them? I am trying to get out of buying the $50 anti rotating kit hd sells. Your both probably right bout the boards helping with the heat as opposed to pegs. I would rather stay with pegs if I could.
There are others here that have floorboards and do not rotate as well. If something is going to screwup it will be me. Soo, I just ordered the pegs and see how they do.
