I also thought this was going to be the big year for the Deuce, seems like theyhave made many changes to other model of Harleys and the Deuce has not changed one bit since it came out in 2000, I thought for sure there was going to be a 240 this year, but what do those nuckle heads do they drop the Best looking bike that they have produced. I have gone on the test your metal rides the dealers put on, and boy I can't wait to get off and back on my Deuce......
bad news on the availability front - i had been told by the major dealer in Melbourne that they held 4 Deuces when details the 2008's were released. The Deuces sold that week... and if thats not the market telling you something i don't know what is. I know it may be impractical for you, but you could try Harley Heaven (Geelong, Victoria), it was there apparently the 4 were on the floor, and seeing as how they all went in a week it seems to be a bit of an impulse decision and a sale might not have gone through in the end. If you're preference is for the Deuce over the Rocker, I'd give them a call.
Off topic - do people have an opinion on the DM cone AC (chrome perhaps a twisted cover)? I want to change over the football - i've got a blue SE AC under it so just taking the cover off might look a bit stupid.
au, is that a storage tube on your left down tube? how much can you fit in there? i've been thinking about getting something like or the chrome tool box that mounts near the passenger peg.
Yes its the HD 7" storage tube part no. 64100-03 - $327 from Zanottis. I wear glasses which i store in the tube inside an old Oakley fabric glasses sleeve when i ride. My eyesight is borderline requiring corrective glasses to drive/ride and whilst my licence doesn't require it, i wear them all the time. I have prescription riding glasses (Panoptix with a day/night transition lens) that are brilliant when riding as they have a detachable foam seal that stops wind, but they're a bit bulky to wearwhen not riding.
The tube is really good. Great chrome finish with screw top (rubber ring sealed) at each end. I've never had it come loose riding either and it has never gotten in the way. I only use the tube for my glasses so its a good fit for my requirement. I looked at the tool kits but i didn't like the look of them, and i only needed to carry the glasses so it ended up being a pretty easy choice. Depends what you need to carry... Theres a LHS photo in my gallery that shows it a bit better, and i've had the Ness 3" control extension fitted since the gallery photo and the tube location is still not in the way.
I made an air filter cover at work last night, what do you think? I was trying to do something with a 2 playing card as a theme( for "deuce"). I just polished the bare aluminum, but I may send it to get chromed one I decide if I like the graphics. Any suggestions? IThink I may make another this weekend that has three 2's held like a fan.
