Hey fellas, dont like the new format, cant see all those cool bikes in sigs and avatars. Do the admin guys know how long it took me to upload my pics last time. Took my deuce drag racing 2 weeks ago down an 1/8 mile near home. Had a great day with about 8 runs in. Best time of 8.6 seconds on an unprepped track and i was'nt doing any burnouts to heat the tyre. Was only feathering the throttle out of the hole also, going to practice my starts before the next meeting in October and hopefully drop a few 1/10ths. One 2 trophys too for best looking race bike and runner up in the open harley division, what a blast you guys should give it a go if you have'nt tried it before.
DD,
What's up my man? Nice to hear from you again.
Ratsmow,
Same here. Every other friday I go to Napierville dragway to do a couple
of 1/4 mile passes. My best time was 12.5 with 107 miles/hre. and that's
without a good burnout, 40 lbs of pressure on the rear tire and no power
shifting. Not to bad for a little 95" kit. But what a blast I have. What mods
do you have to your engine Ratsmow?
Canuck, my motors an 88 with crane HTC 310-2 grind cams, also got Fuel Pack and thats about it. Pretty stock but it runs pretty good. A guy I went with has a 95 03 softail, quite abit of money spent on the motor, he's pretty experienced racer and his ran a personal best of 7.8 in the final against me. He was running 15lb in the rear and thats where he got me every time, off the start line. Does a significant burnout holds it on 3000 and drops the clutch, launches pretty hard and he also does flat changes. That last sentence is what I need to practice and I reckon theres a few 1/10ths to be gained.
Not much traffic on here lately, everyone must be riding or have nothing to say.
Ratsmow
It's lots of good fun doing a few passes isn't it. The only problem where I
go is that there are only sports bikes. I could here them all snickering when
I show up with my Harley. I've taken a couple of 600cc's but anything 750cc's
and over is not even close. However, I'm always leading the race until the last
1/3 of the track. Out of the hole, no problem. 1/8 mile, no problem. 1/2 track,
no problem, but I can here there engines starting to get in the upper revs and
then that's all she wrote....
But it's all in good fun anyway and we all end up shooting the chit in the end.
I just happen to keep all my slips. The 1/8 mile on my best pass of 12.527 is
8.034 with a speed of 90.162
What's this giggle gaz your talking about??
Sounds interesting......
Nitros oxide my boy, HP in a bottle but you have to be careful with it, can be hazardous for your engine if used incorrectly. I believe its good bang for your buck if your chasing more power. 8.03 hey dont think I'll get to close to that with my 88 but 8.20s or 30s would be good.
