mt325,
I have the stock shocks with the Progressive stems. Great choice with the 422s man.
I have my fender siting an inch and a half off the tire. With my preload to it's max. The
tire will just slightly miss the fender, but only on the real nasty bumps. And I'm only
a 185 pounder. I've got to admit though. She almost rides like a rigid. Try 2.5 to 3 inches
off the fender with the preload mid way. Sit on her and bounce up and down to see what
happens. Then take it from there. Only a suggestion of course. No, I haven't touched
the front at all. If I ever do lower the front, it'll be 1" max cause I like to lean hard and
wouldn't want her to rub.
CC: I thought the fenders came pre drilled. So do you have the fender attached through the pre drilled holes and just the shocks at the max or did you re drill the fender?
My kit is the 180 fender, seat and strut combo. It wasn't predrilled. I had to cut the fender struts.
Detach my shocks. Push the swingarm to touch the swingarm stops and then mock-up my fender
about 1/8 of an inch off the tire. When I reattached my shocks, the fender was about 3 to 3 1/2 inches
off the tire. Then I just lowered it to where I now have it at 1 1/2 inch off the tire.
In your case, you assemble in the predrilled holes. Then you lower to where you want it. I wish they had
this kit available when I bought mine......
P.S. This is exciting bro. I like to see projects in the making.
I'm like a kid in a candy store. I look at my bike everyday I leave the house and just can't wait. I was thinking about putting and a 23" rim on the front but thought it would be too much for the frame of the bike. Any thoughts? Now I just have to fingure out my paint scheme, this is the tough part.
I'm not sure if they make any aftermarket consoles for the Deuce . The only one I
would think of is the one from the Rocker. I believe the Rocker uses the same tank
as the Deuce. Buddy over here did my powder coating for 50.00 cdn. I figured if I
didn't like it, I'd only be down 50. But I kind of like it now with my Dakota Digital in
there.
