Sounds like your friend is healing up nicely and was luckly indeed. Bikes can be replaced, people cannot! I've rode the Draggin' twice and it was enough for me, fun, but enough. I liked the hwy 28 leading up to the draggin almost as good. Lots of great roads up in the mountains to ride besides the draggin. Just stay alert and have fun.
Rode the dragon for the first and maybe the lasttime on good friday. not a very scenic ride. curvy roads are a dime a dozen in this area with alot more things to look at. not worry about whose going to run you over. so i will try to avoid it myself.
Ride to the top of grandfather mountain, just off the parkway, you have to have your stuff wired right to go up that . some of the cars ahead of us stopped mid way up. aparently the drivers were scared of heights. 180 degree turns at 5mph, no guard rails. one hell of a view!!!
as much as the dragon sounds fun i dont really think that you will find me up there. its not my driving skills its the others. i hear that little sports cars go there and haul a$$ around the corners. that is something i or anybody is prepared to meet
I road the Dragon twice, once in my Corvette, had a blast, the second time I was in my wifes Lexus 300is, with the button shift on the stearing wheel. That was fun the wife said its like a ride at the fair. My plans were to ride it today, remodeling of our kitchen got in the way[:@]I know it will be the slowest ride I have taken on the Dragon, but I stll want to log it in to the memory bank. My Daughter is about to make me a two time Grand Pa, so might be a little while before I can make plans for another try.
