I'd like yout opinion, which is the better ride riding the coast or the mountains. Just getting back into it after 35 years away

I love the coast and the mountains, but if I must chose, then it would have to be the mountains. That is what so great about living in North AL. So many great places to go ride.

Some of the best riding roads in America are just down the road around the corner. I prefer mountains, hills, curves, and cruising. I'm a bit long in the tooth for taking the twisties too hard, but I'll still ride them. Haven't really done much in the way of coast riding though I know the scenery is worth it.

Well, it was decided for me. Wifey didn't like me telling her no casinos in the smokies. Going to biloxi, I'm running late on annual donation anyway. We'll ride from there through Gulfport and beyond as long as we're enjoying it. Whoo Hoo I hit 65mph yesterday, what a wimp. Only had it about a month, having to build up my confidence. I was running 80 in my Tundra on I20 the other day and passing no one. Was thinking I may never ride the interstates.

Yes there is a Casino is Cherokee, NC......2 ways to get there......off of I-75 go east on hwy 64 pass the Ocoee to Murphy NC. Go north on 19 all the way to Cherokee and a freaking great ride. Plenty and I mean plenty of great roads. The other way would be to ride to Gatlinburg and go over the mtn.....either way would be great....have fun

That casino is on the way to Maggie Valley, N.C. You can get to some really great riding in that area of the country. Buddy and I stayed at the Motorcycle Hotel on the weekend of July fourth (dude drank a whole bottle of $80 Scotch and only offered me a shot - I did have my bottle of Makers Mark but I made it last two days). Cherokee is just a few miles up the road. Some of the hotels can get pricey, but you can also find some really good places as well. Biggest issue we had was rain - buddy even bought a new rain suit. Also, it can get cold in the mountains, so dress accordingly. I wore my leathers and was mostly fine except for one day out on the Blue Ridge Parkway - was cold that day.

Default VNVLV MC Alabama Road Dog Run

This event is open to the general public and proceeds are donated to Operation Zero. For more information on Operation Zero, go here: http://www.opzerovets.org/
Come party and enjoy the live music, food and beverages. Bring a tent or an RV and camp. It's safer and cheaper than a DUI. There are a couple of popular local bands from the Huntsville area that are scheduled to play. They'll be announced at a later date.

Yep, went to Maggie valley, rode the Parkway in both directions, made our expected donation to the casino. Great scenery and got some good bike pictures with mountains and valleys in background. Stoping to let a bunch of elk cross the road. We had to trailer up there the luggage rack I ordered just before the trio did not fit. GPS took us up the Dragon tale, didn't think we would ever get off that damn road. Fun on the bike not so much 11 o'clock at night with the truck and trailer
Came home through wears valley to see the cave.Loved that area we are getting a cabin there next month thanks for the advice we had a ball

Great Pinng30, glad you had a great time! We love going up there at least once a year, but would prefer about 10 times. I like riding the Natchez Trace a lot as well.
