Primary case cover

Hello I have a 48 and want to change the chrome round part of the case cover but I need help. What are they called? I am looking on the internet and can only find the whole cover. I need a flat black one. Thanks guys

I'm guessing you mean the derby cover? Circle, 6 bolts, take it off to do a clutch adjustment. It is also called the clutch inspection cover.

When taking the derby cover off, make sure the bike is leaning over the other side otherwise you will lose some oil out of the bike. re-use or replace the rubber gasket on the back side of cover or you will leak oil out the cover. Plus don't lose the little spring in the center of the cover. Re-use that also.

And most important...

Use a T-27 Torx on those derby cover bolts. A T-25 will strip the bolts' heads and you'll be back with more questions.

Replace them with stainless steel allen head bolts. Put a small amount of anti seize on them. Never strip another one again. 1/4"-20 x 5/8" is the OEM size.
