Just to let you know I have been reading all of these excellent responses. Thereis much good advice givenas well as thedo's and don'tsregarding my oilsituation. You guys/gals have a lot more knowledge and experiencewith H-D's than I have and I really appreciate the help everyone is showing. Thanks to all for this.

Like I had said in a earlier post , take out the plugs, crank the engine over until most of the oil returns to the tank. Stick a battery charger on it for a while, put the plugs back in . Start the bike, ride around the block a few times, and then do an oil change . All that oil in the crank will make it very hard on the starter. That's my opinion...Mark...

Since so many of you responded to my question with regards to the oil in the tank not looking like I thought it should (after I initiallystarted the engine to allow the oil to return to the tank after its' winter storage)...ALL IS GOOD. Apparently what I was seeing was a thin 'foam' on top of the oil which kinda scared me into thinking something was amiss. One of the things I justdid was to check with the H-D dealer and was told 'not to be concerned with that, if the oil looked like a milkshake then to change it before riding'. I took it for abouta 10mile ride and looked in the tank again when I got back and it appeared normal looking.

Do I feel dumb...YES, do Inow think thatI wasted some of your time...YES, do I appreciate the help from you people...YES. Thanks to everyone, I feel relieved that everything is ok and as a bonusit's supposed to be sunny and warm this weekend so I'll be cleaning, polishing and going for another ride.
