I installed a pair of Napa #90290 air tank valves in my fork caps while I had them apart a while back.
Total cost around $6.00 it gives me more ride control options , and a great conversation starter.
Just drill and tap holes for 1/8" NPT and you're done.
Hint , they are VERY thick , use a really good drill.

Well ... I did this to relocate my rear turn signals. Cheap and easy.

Stock, the front fender sits 1" off the tire. Never have liked that look.

I want to get it down to about 3/8" off the tire. There is enough metal on the brackets that I am going to drill 4 new holes 5/8" higher on the bracket and then trim the extra metal off.

First thing was to get the new holes drilled in the front fender bracket.

Was able to get them 5/8" higher, which is what I was hoping for.

Now time to cut off the extra metal. Not worried about the paint, new paint is coming later.

Trimmed this much off.

Did a little smoothing up and rounding the corners. Better finish will come later, when prepping for paint.

Now time to fit it up.

Here is how it looked stock....riding 1" above the tire.

Here it is mounted with the new holes.

From the side-

Much Better!

toying with the idea to put a home made XL 1957 look-alike headlight nacelle on my mid-glide fork, not finalized yet:

Home made rear rack, removed since it cracked, must be repaired:

Looking to finalize the mounting of a set of WL 45" fenders with ditto Beehive taillight, those should get to the painter this year:

That sums it up, I guess...

I made my own handlebars. About $15 dollars for a 6' piece of .125 steel pipe. About $10 for powder coating.

Here is a rack I made out of scrap brass at work. I strap my lunch on it going back and forth to work. Very handy. I wanted to have an old school look rather than the new round, curved style.

Proteus I like what your doing. I would like to see a section of your front fender cut out and welded back together to fit the front tire size a little better. Looks like it is for a larger diameter tire and wheel. But the bike is looking cool and keep us updated with the new pictures as you work on it. I like to see people making stuff for their bikes rather than buying stuff. You don't need a whole shop filled with tools. There is a lot of work that can be done with files, Dremel, torch, hammer, etc.

I've always been a fan of the chopped cam cover and sprocket covers. I did my sprocket cover. I have a cam cover that I've already chopped/painted just haven't installed it yet.
