But the good news is you can be pretty sure now that the rest of the bike is in perfect working order. All your problems stemmed from a part that was not original to the bike. That's confidence inspiring.
For the masses: Given the use of this tank and the problems using it, would adding an in-line filter between the tank and carb provide any extra protection? I guess its just another place for gunk to clog up. If the tank is recoated well its probably a redundant and unnecessary addition to use the filter.
