Passenger Peg Removal
I've got a 2014 Sportster 1200 Custom. I've ordered a solo seat and hope soon, when my budget allows, to get a solo swing arm bag and bracket set. Knowing I will never have a passenger on this bike and with the above purchases in mind I decided it was time to remove the passenger pegs. The left came off without incident and I was able to put everything back in place (okay, so it was only one item).

Left side without passenger peg.
Removal of the right peg seems a lot more complicated because the same bracket the foot peg is on also seems to be a docking point for a linkage (?) to the rear brake. I know I can just pull the peg itself but that wouldn't look like a clean finish. Has anyone done this? Do most people just leave it alone or just pull the peg? Is there a different bracket I should be buying so that the stuff for the back brake can be properly connected? I'd love to hear what others have done when pulling their passenger pegs.
The right peg I want to pull.
The bracket the peg is attached to along with the other stuff
And yes, I'm looking into manuals. The one company I checked only went to 2013 for my bike. Does that matter?
Thanks for any help, advice or suggestions.
But honestly I would leave them just in case.
Fmnunes2803 - I will PM you when I get the part because I'm not a skilled mechanic and will have questions and seek advice. Although it sounds like it's a pain in the...well, you know, I'm hoping it's doable for someone at my skill level. It also might be good practice for when I tackle an exhaust upgrade or at least begin seriously talking to people about what I want to do.
Thanks to both of you.
