I think it would be worth asking him, looks like you have 3 people already in line with myself included! That's a good start for the 24 hours it's been, people will probably line up if we could get a Group Buy going! Should help lower the cost too since typically the more units sold the cheaper the final cost is to everyone. Let's get this ball a rollin'!

I mean what's a guesstimate? $100? $200?

I'm starting to lean towards a regular "toggle".. Seems easier and certainly more affordable. Most importantly, it wouldn't add an additional key (the barrel key). I'll still carry my standard key either way in order to use the fork lock.

Can anyone point me in the direction (amazon/home depot etc) of a good toggle switch that would work? I'm confused by the "accessory" position. A) I'm not really sure when I would use that position? I never have yet. B) I've read you can "wire it together" with the other position and use a 2 position (on/off) switch?

Any help appreciated. I have a Custom so, I'm thinking of mounting the switch on the removable plate on the big handle bar riser. Be out of site, and I think relatively safe from rain since it's on the underside?

So no dice, he's not interested. He's too busy with his current work schedule.
He did mine as a favor on a Sunday....

Anyway, I'd recommend getting the V-Twin bracket/switch combo I posted previously
and cutting that down, bolting to a mount for a horizontal coil (if thats what you're
after) or just running it as a keyless only switch conversion (no coil relocation).
I think I paid ~$55.00 for the bracket/switch combo so it's not outragously expensive.

T.

Well damn

I'm going to repost this here since it's along the same subject, also posted it on the other keyless thread so I apologize if this frowned upon...

So I have a question regarding this, is it possible to buy the new ignition switch/fork lock combo and be able to swap out the factory 48 fork lock with the new fork lock that uses the same barrel keys as the new ignition switch? I see that Drag Specialties sells both the Ignition Switch and Ignition Switch/Fork Lock combo. I've been trying to find a pic of what the stock 48 fork lock looks like when removed but not having any luck.

To the guys that have done this mod, are you just using the 2 different keys to unlock the fork and start the bike? Well now that I say that I guess you are no longer using a key to start the bike but you know what I am trying to say

And here's what the new mount looks like installed. The only difference
between this pic and the previous is that this one (rev2) has the switch
relocated upward about 1/2" so the whole bracket is a bit more compact...

...snip....
So yes, a regular toggle would be more affordable, but how cool is that ?

The FatBob switch's barrel lock (covered by a hinged door) does not HAVE to be locked....

good luck,

T.
