Changing Air Cleaner, no change in Dynojet tune file?
I have been running my 2013 Sportster 72 for a season with the stock air cleaner, stock headers, and rush slip ons with 1.75 inch baffles. I also flashed the ECM last season with the Dynojet Power Vision tuner. I was supplied a tune from Fuel moto.
Issue is, I am now installing a big sucker intake. So, I went back to fuel moto to receive an updated tune because I assumed this would be required. Received the tune today, compared it to my current tune and it is exactly the same.
Is it possible I was running a tune meant for a stage 1 air cleaner last season? Do I not require a new tune when changing the air cleaner?
Just a guess but maybe your last tune was made for an aftermarket AC and you were running a little rich last year. Your best bet would be to contact Fuel Moto directly and ask them, they could provide you with the best answer.
I also notice that Dynojet provides a bunch of tune files as well. Some are for rush slip-ons with an air cleaner. The differences between these tunes and the one supplied by Fuel Moto are very substantial.
Do people have good luck running the Dynojet supplied tunes?
Here is my custom tune for my 2011 Sportster Low XL1200L. I have Rush 3" slip ons with 2" baffles. Ran this with an Outlaw 587 and a Velocity Stack...both ACs ran on the same tune. Bike purred with either AC. Just providing something you can compare. He also adjusted something else but don't recall since I am not a my home computer.
Thanks for the replies! Jamie from fuel moto actually emailed me back and confirmed that the tune I was running last year was actually for a stage one.
I think I will revert back to his original tune, then run a few auto tune sessions from that. Should have good results with that.

Yes, Jamie is the person who did my custom tune....he is awesome. He modified my tune after I ran autotune since I was still getting very slight decel popping. Good luck.
