Help with front wheel fitting? Urgent please
This morning I got a chance to measure the bearing bore depths of a 08-later Sportster narrow-glide laced spoke wheel (it will represent the Iron's 13-spoke wheel)
The Right-side bore depth is .105" deeper than the "Primary" side (left-side). So if someone incorrectly installed the Right-side bearing first, the wheel could be shifted up to .105" to the right from where it was originally located.
INSTALL LEFT SIDE FIRST (Brake Disc side)

They may have just inserted both bearings and if using a threaded "draw" bar (basically long bolt or all-thread) just starting pulling both bearings in at the same time and what you got was what you get "up to .105" offset"

It appears that the bearings have been installed incorrectly. After a better look I can see that the disc side bearing fits pretty much flush with the edge of hub and the right side bearing sits about 8mm in. After talking to a tech guy he said its crucial for the disc side to go in first as it acts as the wheel alignment so now the wheel is pushed over to far. I have ordered another pair of bearings and the garage is going to pull them out and refit new ones in correct order.
Harley tech guy said its a common mistake and my garage is actually a Honda dealer so prob not of known as I never.
I chose them as gave good price on my white wall tyres and 5 mins from home so thought get them to do bearings rather than take wheels away to a Harley garage.
Hopefully get it sorted and back on the road soon!
Again thanks for taking the time multihdrdr to measure your bike
