I like mids the best, I would probibly get used to forwards over time if I had to but mids feel best to me. On the highway I often use the passenger pegs, it sounds like your legs would be all cramped but I find it comfortable, I would just like to get some drag bars so I lean forward a bit more.

How do you mount highway pegs on an 04 1200R with out going to a engine gaurd / crash bar ?
That was precisely my point. I haven't found a way yet, except for some crappy looking setup that bolted to the frame. The "engine guard" would look better.

I like my mid controls as well. I have found that as I go into a turn I kindahug the tank withmy legs .....
Man, wish I was a tank. [sm=drooldude.gif]

Back on topic, I'm only 5'7 and I love my forward controls. I don't seem to have any problem with cornering. Guess it's all just personal preference.

I like my mid controls as well. I have found that as I go into a turn I kindahug the tank withmy legs .....not really sure why ..but I do. Iguess it's just how I thought my self to ride when I first started out ona crtoch rocket....and the fact of having the mid controls makes that possible for me.
To me it's like having a car with a stick....the mid controls makes it feel Sportier.

Of course.... being short doesn't really work with forwards either. I don't like the feel of having to stretch out to ride.
Man would I love to be that rocket!!!

I am 5'8" with a 29" inseam, so I too like the mids, but I like HWY pegs just to streatch out once in a while.

Ohhh stop that you boys....yall are going to giv me a big head.
Wait a minute...that didn't sound right......yall are making me blush.....yeah that's better.

I'm with everyone else on seeing pics of how to install highway pegs without a crash bar. I want a set as well but I am not doing the bar thing. Right now when ever I want to stretch my legs I lay my leg across my airfilter.

I had a CBR for 9 years and I used to love to hang off the side of it while cornering. I still like to lean off the side on the 1200R. Not quite the same, but still fun. I don't think you'd be able to lean like that with forward controls.

I lay my ankles out on the mids sometimes on longer rides. I can definitely see the forward controls being comfy on extended jaunts.

I love the Mid controls,I too have highway pegs andI like the ability to change it up. Its funny because a lot of the timeI ride with my left foot on the mid and my right on the highway peg.
I thought I was the only one that did this.

I am 6ft1 and I prefer the mids I have a 34 inch inseam. riding or driving with your knees higher than your hip joint is the best position for relieveing the strain on your spin. I have the h-d 3 position highway pegs on my 1200r ( a gift from my kids for christmas ) I dont use them much but they are nice to change position for a bit. they mount to where the forward controls would go and you can flip them up out of the way if your burning up the twisties. you can see them in this picture folded up

No, I can't see them in the sig pic. Do you happen to know the HD part number for those? That might be what I'm looking for, but I certainly haven't seen it... Ah, after your edit, I can sort of see them, that might work for me!!!

Oh...and Amy, you mentioned you wanted to get a new seat....Darlin, you already have a fine one!! [sm=drooldude.gif]

I prefer mid-controls because I want to be able to stand if I must. My height is about 5'11"
