Default Bike wont shift
Hey All I cant get my 94 sporty 1200 to go in gear. Any advice ?

No but I just bought it needing clutch. I
​was told bu the seller it was the clutch , does that sound correct? Im hoping its not the transmission.

Can you shift it thru the gears with the engine off and just rolling back and forth?

I have heard the same problem before and after replacing the clutch, everything went fine.

What happens when you try to put in gear? Will it go into second? (One click up) Have you checked the adjustment first? Is there fluid in the primary?

Yea Ive tried to move it back anf foward it still wont get in gear. Running or not,so im gonna check on fluids and adjustments now and see what happens.Thanks for the help. Oh yea,,, so yas dont think its transmission then?

Did you hear it run when you bought it? How do you know it has compression and the motor isn't seized? It should shift without the bike running, I would pull the clutch cover and see what's in there. Does the cable have any movement?

Your really not giving us much information. You can still shift if the motor is not running.
Does the shift arm move freely or with a click/notch sound, do you feel resistance or does it just flop down all the way. Dies the clutch lever and cable pull in when you squeeze it.
