I just read your thread and that was very informative indeed. I want loud so I can be heard by cagers - that is my goal. Tone must not be sacrificed. Loud is important to me but not offensive and not to be heard like that chopper in your other thread the guy was talking about. The Reinharts look wide open inside like there is not much baffleing (sp?). Interesting. Two other HDs on my street and one in the cul-de-sac with me. They are both loud so the precedence has been set.
Cycle Shack slip ons. Loud, throaty, deep voice. I can hear them rumbling real clear through my full face helmet. I love the deepness of the note (musician here). From an esthetics standpoint, all I can tell you is that the baloney cuts make for an aggressive look. If I could figure out how to get my pics to downsize an accompany my post I would.
I like my Vance and Hines.I told my neighbor bill (posted a pic of his chopper on here) that I was thinking about putting my baffles back in.He said nothing against your wife but your bike sounds good don't do it.My wife has SE2's with baffles removed. He said it sounds good.Kids give me a thumbs up all the time.I like the sound so it works for me and the pipes look great, better than the fat HD pipes do.If I had the means to do it I would post a sound track of my pipes. My bike is louder than his chopper.
Thanks for all the replies. I ended up going with a set of Rines. Purchased them from a new friend here on the forums. I will post up a mods thread once I get them installed with everything else I have done to the bike.
