Default Is this part essential?

Quick one for the pros:

I bought one of those choke plates from CV performance to move the enricher. Well, I figured since there's nothing there, I'll just remove the bracket that was holding it in place at the stock location (see part #4, HD part number 16353-04):

Is this an essential bracket? I don't want to leave it off if it needs to be there.

thanks for your help

Those holes are just plugged with a bolt on the fuel injected models so I'm sure you could do the same.

As someone here likes to say, they are some cheap b**tards in Milwaukee. They wouldn't provide it unless it had a purpose. Good luck.

No #4 is not required, it's only there to mount the choke and/or the horn.
Many models including mine came with no bracket from the factory, mine has no choke and my horn is mounted in the front down tubes.

On your new rubber mounted doo-dads this part isn't required. On the older hard mounts like mine, this part is actually one of the motor mounts.

I got one on my 2014 because I mounted the cow bell horn. Way louder.
