What carb and where and why did it go lean all of a sudden ?
Did you change anything ?
Lean will sag and stutter rich will stumble and run rough, don't bite me head off just saying !
Carb cough will be worse on a cold motor. once warmed up, it should go away. Now if it does it all the time it could be caused by an air leak from intake seals leaking. Or, if you changed the exhaust and or air cleaner, that can cause it to do that also. Rejeting the carb should fix that. Another thing that might be a cause is if the bike has sat for a long time, the jets might be gunked up. Running a tank of gas treated with Gummout or some other cleaner might clear it up. If your gas is fresh and the cleaner don't do it, then you will have to take the carb apart and clean it manually.,,,
I was going to say maybe she's been hanging out with a Honda and developed a cough but......probably more likely an issue that's been mentioned already.

heh. If it gets a cough from any other bike, it would be a Honda. My Super Hawk's chokes are notorious for leaking air.
Rebuilt and rejeted carb bout 6 months ago, most recent installed new Dynatek 200i ignition. Coughs when cold and once in while in neutral ate a light and I blip the gas. Stock CVO.... just rejeted for stage one
