Picked up this jewel for my wife today. '06 1200C. 3k miles. Previous (one) owner bought new tank and fenders when this thing was new, had them custom painted with cool ghost flames. All of the take off parts, several boxes of them, were given to me in the deal.
So, get ready for some stupid newbie questions Sportster questions.
Finding a good deal is half of the fun, but now the adventure begins,
There are a lot of unexplored adventures ready to be enjoyed in your future.
Tell your wife to turn the key and open the throttle.
Plenty of time to ask questions and share your stories later.
It is riding season now and miles need to be added to the odometer..
You might even have trouble keeping up.
Sweet deal for sure! 3K miles, it's barely broken in. The only thing I would look into now would be some fresh rubber on the wheels and then ride, ride, and then some more riding!
I rode it to my shop and back today, and it sure runs out nice. Throttle response is crisp, it's smooth, and quick. Not as comfy as my FLHTC, but fun as hell. For $4200, I think I did pretty good. Saturday we'll go get her a nice helmet, then get her some seat time.
New tires and fluids and you will have a 10K bike for less than half the price.
This 1200 is too nice to leave outside and too nice to leave inside.
Would love to find one as nice as this one.
Budget 800.00 for the tires, insurance, helmet, fluid check and her first road trip.
Fall in love all over again.
Your bike can carry all of the unimportant travel gear and both bikes can share in the memories.
She needs every inch of her side bags for her important travel gear and accessories.
Stop often, hold hands and be sure to purchase a set of Blue Tooth Helmet Headsets to keep the adventure from missing a beat.
Thank you for sharing,,,

Nice! I picked up an '08 1200C with 10,000 k on it (6000 miles) in near new condition on this very day (Aug 2) last year. Its great to get a good bike but even better to get a good deal around it.
You are fortunate to have a wife that rides. My late wife and I put over 20,000 miles on our BMWs travelling all over Canada and the USA. They were some of the best moments of my life, and I wish you both the same.
Nothing will deter her more from continuing to ride, than an accident and road rash. Get her a helmet and some decent riding gear. "Dress for the slide not the ride" is the old saying.
It's been a little over a year since I bought this, and she loves to ride as long as it's not too hot here. She recently complained that it didn't seem to be running very well, and after I did a quick test ride, I discovered she was right. I replaced the 13 year old spark plugs a couple of weeks ago, and it runs like a top again. I detailed it today, and discovered the 13 year old battery finally gave up. This thing has turned out to be a great buy.
The only thing I didn't like about it was that she could outrun me on my 2000 Electra glide, so I fixed that in April.
