Will do, but I can do that through the primary chain inspection cover anyway . It was alright 400 miles ago .

Default Job done

OK , job done . I rode it a few miles , dropped the oil , removed the chain inspection cover , checked the chain ( all good ) then with the use of a modified funnel I slowly poured in a quart of Drag Specialities Sportster Gear and Chain case Oil for Sportsters ( you can't get more specific than that ! ) And that's it . What I did find interesting was what came out of the chain case . It was red in colour and even when cooled it was a bit thinner than what went in . I'm guessing this was ATF . One thing I've learned from this exercise is that if you asked a hundred experts what oil goes in a Sportster you are very likely to get a hundred answers ! Oh yeah, very little magnetic sludge on the drain plug , which was nice.

Fixed it for ya.

Sounds like you did it right, and DS stuff is usually pretty good.
