Anyone on here with a 48 running a downtube bag? I swung by my local dealer the other day and we held one up to get an idea and it looked like my front tire would actually scrape the bag.
Just curious if anyone is running one and what your experience is/has been?
This is my second one. I had one on my Dyna and then picked one up for this Nightster. I keep all my tools and anything I dont need immediate access. Doesnt get as dirty as you would think, but I live in So CA where it never gets wet.
I looked at those too and didn't like the clearance issue and awkward access, I ended up drilling a hole in the metal mounting piece inside the bag and mounted it using the rear seat bolt between the seat and licence plate. I think it looks OK there and is easy to get at, it'll hold a pack of smokes and a water bottle and gloves instead of having all that stuff jammed in my jacket pockets.
